The Hot Spot -Trade-

Description

A blast of warm steamy air rushed into Marybeth's face as soon as she opened the door.  She breathed in, allowing warm air to fill her sinuses, before entering the passageway and closing the door behind herself.  As the reticulated python proceeded down the carved stone stairs, the air grew hotter and more humid, as if she were walking into a sauna.  By the time she reached the bottom, she would have been sweating profusely were she not a reptile.  Ahead of her, barely visible through the steam, was the culprit: a natural hot spring, the main attraction of this underground cave.  Not many knew of this hot spring; the cave didn't connect to the caldera tunnels, so it was of little interest to the Valley's general population.  Today, nobody was here but Marybeth.
Gently the python sank one leg into the piping hot water, then the other, and the rest of her body quickly followed.  The spring was only knee-deep, so Marybeth couldn't submerge herself completely even by lying down.  That didn't discourage her, though; she barrel-rolled in the spring, getting every inch of her body wet and tingling with heat.  The snake's blood raced in her veins as heat filled her body.
Finally she stopped to rest.  Marybeth propped her head up on the cool stone edge of the spring, staring at the ceiling as she basked in the heat from the water and air.  This was the life: her swimsuit, a body of water, and plenty of heat to go around.  She could scarcely think of anything more to ask for...

The summer solstice, the most summery day of the year, was earlier this week.  Of course, for those south of the Equator, it's the winter solstice.  In honor of this, I proposed something to lizardman22, a known resident of the Southern hemisphere: "I'll send you some heat if you'll send me some cold."  He accepted without asking for clarification; I'm not sure what he's expecting from this trade, but I think this is the closest I can come to sending him any actual warmth.

This is the first time I've drawn something in a long while.  Good to see I haven't lost it.  I'm actually pleasantly surprised that I was able to retain interest in the project from start to finish.
