"Perhaps this selection of flowers I have for sale would brighten up your house.  This breed of flora isn't normally found anywhere in Necropolis, I'll have you know.  ...How did I get my hands on it, then?  That's a trade secret. *soft chuckle*" --Ida

Type of character: Necropolin Weres

Name: Ida
Age: Appears about 20
Gender: F
Race/species: Weremouse
Occupation: Merchant
Allegiance: None, but secretly supports the Renegades

Family and associates:
Youngest daughter in a long line of weremouse merchants.  Single; has recently begun going steady with a werehorse named Rocky.

Appearance:
In her "normal" form, Ida looks like a standard Mobian mouse, light gray in color with blue eyes and straight red hair.  Her ears are almost circular, and slightly smaller than her head.  Her Necropolin Pentagram's second symbol is a pair of hands, one (coming from the left) reaching over the other (coming from the right) as if about to shake; the pentagram itself is purple, whereas the hands are white.  Her claws and teeth are small, and she typically keeps them hidden.  She is semi-buxom.

In her "feral" form, Ida is a little bit bulkier, her fur is thicker, and she lets out her claws and teeth.  There's one more important detail to this form, but I'll cover that a bit later (see "Abilities").

Her normal dress is relatively skimpy.  She covers her breasts and her unmentionables (with a bra and a short skirt, respectively and both white), but little else.  She doesn't even wear anything on her hands or feet, but she does wear a purple fanny pack that she keeps her coin purse and a few other essentials in.  She also decorates her tail with a white bow.

When "going undercover" (see "Modus operandi"), Ida covers much more of her body, especially her pentagram.  She typically wears a black full-body tunic, sometimes covered by a cloak, and keeps her things in the pockets.  She also ties her hair back in a ponytail, and wears a pair of spectacles, fingerless leather gloves, and brown boots.  Oh, and she doesn't wear anything on her tail.

Personality:
It's difficult to nail down Ida's personality, since she presents herself exactly the way she wants to be presented.  She is a shrewd businesswoman, capable of taking on different personas in order to further a business deal.  She is very secretive, but good at hiding it casually.

Most of the time, she presents herself as shy yet cheerful.  She has an outgoing side, but keeps it fairly restrained.  She never, EVER drinks alcohol, wanting to keep her mind as clear as possible.  She likes to keep herself busy managing her stocks or tidying up her stall or... who knows what else.  She is a stickler for cleanliness, making sure to bathe or shower every day.

She is very, very good at keeping secrets.  (She'd have to be; she's got her own secrets to keep!)  You could offer her all the wealth in Necropolis and her lips would stay zipped.

Abilities:
Ida's "feral" form is a little different from most weres, since mice aren't known for their viciousness.  Most of the standard details apply, but when Ida transforms, she shrinks down to a mere two or three inches in height, making it possible for her to slip through tiny nooks and crannies.  She can even shrink nearby objects (i.e. her clothes, or even a small cart full of supplies) along with her, but whatever she shrinks returns to its normal size when she does.

Modus operandi:
Ida runs her stall in the Necropolis marketplace every Thursday, offering different items for sale each week.  However, it can be difficult to find her in town the rest of the week; this is because she leads a secret double life.  Nobody else inside or outside of Necropolis knows this, but Ida passes in and out of the walled city on a regular basis.

She enters and leaves the city through a tiny hole in the city wall near her house; the hole would be far too small for most to fit through, but it easily accommodates her in her diminutive feral form.  (She makes sure the hole is hidden from plain sight on both ends, though, as it would probably be sealed quickly if it was too conspicuous.)

When out and about, Ida poses as an ordinary traveling merchant with no ties to Necropolis, presenting herself substantially differently so nobody suspects she's a were.  In addition to changing her clothes and hairstyle (see "Appearance"), she speaks with a faux British accent, and calls herself "Garnet".

History:
Ida underwent her first "feral" transformation when she was the Necropolin equivalent of about ten.  She was helping out in a warehouse when an accident caused her to get buried in an avalanche of heavy boxed supplies.  She thought she was going to be crushed to death until the ancestors' power kicked in, reducing her to a small enough size that she could easily slip out from under the pile.  She was reeling until her parents explained to her what she'd just done.

For some time after that, Ida experimented with her transformation, using it to explore otherwise inaccessible places and satisfy her curiosity-- and that's how she stumbled upon a fissure in the city wall leading straight to the outside world!  Not wanting to be labeled as a renegade, she retreated and avoided that fissure from then on.

A few years after that, though, she inherited the family business under unfavorable circumstances.  The value of the goods she could sell plummeted fast, and she realized that if she didn't do something she'd go broke and ruin the family reputation.  Getting desperate, the weremouse had a risky idea.  She shrunk down, slipped out of Necropolis through the fissure she'd discovered, and smuggled in some mountain flowers from nearby.  They sold at an amazing profit, and nobody figured out how she'd gotten them!

Realizing the potential of what she'd just done, Ida decided how she'd save the business.  She began making more excursions from the city for supplies, and quickly came up with a second identity for bartering in nearby towns.  Soon enough, she'd established the life she leads today.

Misc. info:
Ida prefers to transform as sparingly as possible, especially in public.  She knows that if she was too liberal with her feral transformation, people might realize the possibility of her using it to sneak out of the city, and her whole business would be jeopardized.
So I read lizardman22's Necropolin Weres bio (he shared it with a friend before publishing it, and I stumbled upon the link) a while back.  Something got set in motion in my mind, and I ended up writing this.

I seem to be very good at making characters, yet relatively bad at actually using them.  I'm fairly certain neither of those skills is of much use without the other.
