The Little Details -Collab-

Guardian stood in front of the mirror in one of the museum bathrooms. It was late at night, and the visitors of the day were long gone. The living stature frowned as he inspected himself. The yellow paint that bordered the panels on his chest was chipped, the brown stonework showing through.
How could I get so lax? he thought.
Carefully he opened a pot of paint and picked up a fine detailing brush. The museum curator always made sure that Guardian had a supply of specially made up paint, it's shade matching Guardian's age faded colours, and restoration putty so that he could groom himself. With a fastidious eye, Guardian began to paint over the chipped paint, blending it in so that the repair work was almost invisible. Satisfied that his panel boarders were once again presentable to the museum public, he started to inspect the rest of his body. A few small scratches were filled in with putty and smoothed over. Soon Guardian was finished, the only blemish on his body being a deep crack that marred the right side of his collar. Guardian looked at it. Since he had started living at the museum, he had resisted the urge to fix the crack, fearing that the public would notice the change and suspect that all was not as it seemed with him. Still, it bothered him. He was proud of his appearance, and hated the look of the 'scar'. Guardian made up his mind. He would have a talk with the curator about being taken off display for a while so it could be fixed. He was sure the museum could make a public announcement that restoration repairs were being made, as an excuse for his absence. Guardian smiled, nodding to himself, confident that they would understand. After all, he was one of the last representatives of his ancient temple, and it wouldn't hurt to look his best for the museum public...

Our second I-draw-he-writes collab.  I'm glad I convinced myself to start drawing again; 22 is a great writer, and I've got still more ideas appropriate for this format.

...I have no idea what that spot in the upper left corner is.  Really.  I don't.
