I don't mind people writing this and that about the rivalry between Sonic and Mario, but most people (most!) seem to assume that it's the only way to go. I mean, just because the two (and soon, three) games they've appeared together in are centered around competition doesn't mean it's all they can do, does it? I for one am a firm believer that they can bury the hatchet and fight alongside each other, rather than against each other.

The Mario's sprite from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga; I downloaded it just for this stamp. The Sonic sprite's from Sonic Advance 2; I had it saved on my hard drive for who knows how long.

Just because we've never seen it happen doesn't mean it can't. And I'm absolutely sure it can. Who's with me?

For all we know, Bowser and Eggman will end up teaming up with eachother other and have Sonic and mario teaming up as a result. :XD:

Maybe Sega and Nintendo will finally figure it out. They'd be much more liable allies then rivals.

Maybe, and I hate to argue against my own viewpoint, but how would they pull it off? The general gameplay of Mario's games is radically different from that of Sonic's.

I agree. In fact, I even desined a game called Mario & Sonic: Teamup for a competition in a games magazine. I didn't win (that went to someone who had them pitted against each other, surprise, surprise!) but I was featured.

:+fav: too true. tho im clearly more leaned towards sonic i happen to be pretty fond of mario. he rulz too! i guess a fights more interesting to watch than a team for most people, which is kinda sad :(
