Literature Text

My daughter has always wanted to be a werewolf hunter when she grows up.

There's nothing wrong with that.  After all, the glory of slaying such savage beasts is quite an attractive prospect.  As her father, I have a duty to support her dreams and help her realize them.

Of course, werewolves have never actually existed in real life, which makes them difficult to hunt-- but every problem has a solution.

Do you see the tank of liquid behind me?  I've been devoting the past decade and a half to the creation of that complex formula, which I call "wolf serum".  One quick injection, and your next moonlit night will be an exciting one!

I have representatives all over the world prepared to inject people at random with my serum.  Soon the world will be terrorized by werewolves-- and my daughter will have a profitable career as a hunter ahead of her!

Do you really wish to destroy all that, Agent Faceless?  The ambition of my child is at stake.  To interfere with my plans would be to drive a wedge into my daughter's future.

...I can tell by your expression that you won't budge.  With such a lack of sympathy, you must never have been a father.  Very well then.

While you were under the influence of my knockout gas, I gave you a dose of wolf serum.  In a moment I'll bring you into the arena, an armored room devoted to demonstrating the savagery of werewolves and the best ways to defend against and defeat them.  The room is illuminated by simulated moonlight, so the transformation will take hold once you're inside.

What bane of werewolves do I have queued for demonstration today, you ask?  ...You didn't ask?  I can't imagine why not.  Either way, I think you should find out for yourself; it'll be more interesting that way.

Come on, Faceless.  And please do try to put on a show; my daughter loves the excitement.
A standalone why-I-do-the-evil-things-I-do speech.  I didn't really have a good reason for writing it.

That first sentence has lots of potential as a writing prompt; a hundred different stories can start with it, depending on all the various conditions it doesn't specify.

Longtime fans may recognize the name "Agent Faceless" from one or two of my earlier works.

Honestly, I'd shoot the dad and the daughter, and destroy the liquid.
