Appearance:
Joy's primary body color is dark green (in standard RRGGBB hexadecimal, it'd be about #008000). Her eyes are brown, and she has a fairly standard build for her species. She has a lighter patch of green (#00C000) on her belly and around her snout and paws. Her ears are floppy and reach almost to her cheeks, and her tail is slim and of moderate length. Her paws have black pads.
Unlike most toons, she never goes unclothed; she's not comfortable showing that much of herself. When on duty, she'll wear a standard postal uniform, whereas in more casual situations she'll opt for a two-piece black bikini. She's also willing to dress fancily should the situation call for it.
Personality:
Joy's defining trait is her claustrophobia. She much prefers being out in the open to anything else, and treasures her elbow room highly. If her personal space is violated, she gets nervous and tends to overreact.
Due to the above, she can't stand getting flattened, especially if it's by surprise. If it's forced on her, she's guaranteed to freak out; symptoms usually involve screaming at the top of her lungs and eyes clenched shut, and in some situations she'll cry profusely. She's been known to get mad or sometimes even sue the culprit if she's squashed deliberately and without consent.
Claustrophobia aside, Joy is fairly polite. She tries to keep her speech semi-formal even when she's angry, and won't ever let a slang word or a string of random symbols exit her mouth. She's usually very cool-headed, and nearly impossible to freak out in situations that don't involve her claustrophobia.
Her favorite color is black, and she enjoys reading in her spare time; historical fiction is her favorite genre.

History:
When Joy was eight, someone kidnapped her. She never found out who.
The kidnapper flattened her with a mallet and took her away, then locked her in an untidy drawer. She was trapped in that drawer for days if not weeks-- she's not sure of the exact duration-- and was unsure she'd ever again be exposed to the outside world.
Eventually, she was recovered by the police, but still vividly remembers the incident. Obviously, her claustrophobia originates from it.

Joy has considered seeing a therapist about her claustrophobia, but isn't sure she can afford a good one.
My first use of Joy was in a roleplay with ~Lolocator. Her intended purpose was to deconstruct a few aspects of the typical 'toon world, most notably... well, you've read The Sailboat Tour, haven't you? Let's just say that marina's not a special case.
